Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is considered the last line of defense against employee exposure to workplace hazards and is commonly used in combination with other industry-risk controls. This training will help participants to identify different types of PPE, understand why it is necessary, and provide an appreciation of its limitations.
The objectives and outcomes for this course are:
- To identify different types of PPE
- To explain why PPE is necessary
- To inform workers of the limitations of PPE
- To instruct in the proper selection of PPE for the work performed
- To instruct in the effective use, care, and maintenance of PPE
