First Aid–Standard with CPR (Alberta)
This course provides instruction in first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and includes theory and practice of various treatments and methods. The information is intended to help workers to respond to incidents and to treat injuries, thereby reducing the risk of death or disability.
The objectives and outcomes for this course are:
- To train each student to the standard level of first aid or to the desired CPR level
- Give participants the knowledge and skills to recognize when first aid is needed
- Give participants the confidence to render first aid at an emergency scene
- Help participants recognize when more qualified help or medical help is required

Duration: 14 hours
Participation: Maximum number of students varies depending on program
Certification: Canadian Red Cross or St. John Ambulance
